Agenda Items

Timeline development – reviewed notes from previous Superintendent search conducted June 1993 to June 1994. Discussed the current timeline and developed one based on the current timeframe.

Reviewed an old job description, will bring to full committee for input.

Spoke about putting the minutes of our meetings and any voted and approved documents (timeline etc.) on the school web site and SPOT web site.

Discussed briefly the role of a consultant in this process. Paul noted he had to limit his discussions at this point because of his duties with MASC. Considered the idea that any RFP sent could be set out in two parts, a community needs assessment as part one and the actual hiring portion as part two. This is an agenda item for our next meeting.

Formed an initial list of community groups who we thought should get involved in this effort – school parents, students (AHS), pre-schools and pre-school parents, teachers/AEA, administrators/principals/central administration, town meeting members/fincom/selectmen, non-school people such as senior citizens, realtors, chamber of commerce, AYCC/AYA.

Next Steps:

  • Suzanne will ask Karen Tassone for most recent job description to give to the full committee for their review. Suzanne will also contact MASC and MASS for a sample job description.
  • Suzanne to speak with Steve Mazzolla about posting meeting minutes

Next meeting: Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 10:00am, place to be determined
